In the article the phenomenon of proper names of Russian enterprises is discussed. Typology of proper names of commercial enterprises is set up in 3 main functions: nominative, informative and advertising. Criteria of optimization of types of proper names are considered.

ASPECTS OF RUSSIAN-GERMAN CONTACTS OF THE EARLY XIX CENTURY: THE “AURORA” JOURNAL, ED. BY PH. CHR. REINHARD

The article deals with cultural reflexes of Russian-German academic ties illustrated by educational activity of Ph. Chr. Reinhard, professor of Moscow University (1804-1812). The use of archives gives the authors an opportunity to elucidate the ideological and political context of German “intellectual immigration” into Russia and their activity. The research has been done under auspices of the DAAD Scholarship programme (1997).

ON THE INTERRELATION BETWEEN THE SIGNIFYING AND THE SIGNIFIED IN THE SENTENCE

The paper deals with the study of the semantic structures expressed by the syntactic structure SPO. Depending on the semantic characteristics of the Predicate, the subject can represent such arguments as Agent, Experiencer, Beneficiant, Elemental and Emotive, while the object corresponds to such arguments as Patient, Perceptive, Intellective, Object, Locative.
